Press Set-Up and Operator
First shift - Full Time (Mon-Thur 6:00 am to 4:30 pm)
Advantech is a manufacturer of quality control devices that are sold worldwide. We are currently seeking a skilled press setup and press operator for our two deep draw presses. Other duties may include machine operator, fork lift driver, welding, plasma cutting, parts assembly, or building maintenance.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products
- Capable of operating hand held and power tools such as drill presses, band saws, cut-off saws, and grinders.
- Basic mathematical skills
- Perform checks for quality of work to insure the product meets quality specifications
- Identify and appropriately document product defects
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
- Be crossed trained in multiple areas throughout the plant and assist as needed in a variety of work areas
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
Qualification requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years mechanical assembly experience is desired
- Basic reading skills. Must be able to follow directions
- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to solve problems and produce suggestions for new concepts or improvement ideas
- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills
- Technical training or certification may be required; may be required to pass ruler test
Physical demands and abilities:
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Periodically perform repetitive tasks
- Regularly possess manual dexterity to manipulate parts
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
